Planning Commission
Blue Lake Township has enacted a Zoning Ordinance which helps control construction of buildings in the area. If you are planning to build a garage, add on to your home, add a deck, or any other type of construction please contact our Zoning Administrator for the proper permits and rules.
The Planning Commission consists of 7 members and a secretary appointed for a three-year term. Members are appointed by the Supervisor with Township Board approval and are compensated for attending meetings. Compensation is set by the Township Board annually. The Commission members develop and recommend to the Township Board a Master Plan and Zoning Ordinance. The Planning Commission may also investigate and recommend other ordinances to the Township Board that they deem are needed. The Secretary records and prepares minutes for each meeting.
The Planning Commission meets on the first Wednesday of each month, with the exception of August which meets the first Saturday, at 9:00 am in the Township Hall.
All meetings are open to the public.
